Happy, healthy children need natural support to help keep them smiling and at their best. In fact, that’s exactly what led Marietta Harrison to create Soothie Suckers. She went in search of natural and gentle ways to promote the health of her five children, and in doing so she discovered a world of herbs that parents have turned to for thousands of years.

Tapping into that ancient wisdom, Marietta developed Soothie Suckers as a safe and fun way to keep kids immune systems strong–and as a way to empower parents to make natural and healthy choices for their children.

Soothie Suckers provides great tasting, pre-measured herbal remedies formatted for children. These proprietary herbal formulas are packaged in ice pop pouches and come in two natural flavors (grape and orange) for daily or seasonal consumption. These first formulas help support the immune system and the upper respiratory system. Expiration date stamped on each pop to insure highest quality

Immune Support Ingredients:

Echinacea Purpurea

Preparations of this plant were widely used by the Plains Native Americans (Comanche and Sioux tribes) for wellness care. The European settlers learned about these indications from the Native Americans. Prior to World War II, Echinacea (which comes from the plant commonly known as purple coneflower) was one of the most widely used tonics in the United States and could be found in nearly every household. Herbalists, for centuries have turned to Echinacea to support the immune system and overall health and so do we.

Astragalus Root

One of the 50 fundamental herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine, astragalus is commonly used to strengthen the immune system and boost metabolism. Check out our blog to learn more.

Pau d’ Arco (Taheebo)

Comes from the inner bark of the Red Lapacho tree in the Andes of South America. It has been used for centuries. Theodoro Meyer of the National University of Tucuman, Argentina was the first modern scientist to study Taheebo’s chemical composition. He found it contained XYLOIDIN ….and ……LASPACHOL — both noted for their excellent health support. Excerpts from The How to Herb Book

Mullein

A valued herb used by the Greek Physician/Herbalist, Dioscorides, it is said that Mullein is the plant that Ulysses took with him on his legendary voyage. It has remained thus employed for more than 1,800 years. Mullein was also known to the Pennsylvania Dutch as Wolla Graut. The Amish eschewed the use of tobacco, but permitted Mullein leaves to be smoked for health support. To further support well being, boiling water was also poured over the fresh leaves and flowers and the steam was inhaled.

Thyme

The origin of the name “thyme” is said to be from the Greek word thymus, which means “courage.” However, to the Greeks it had a dual meaning—“to fumigate.” Thyme, which has been widely grown in both Europe and the U.S., was grown originally in the Mediterranean region and was grown used in monasteries for culinary and supportive use. It came to North America with the first colonists, being used both as a food preservative and for health support. Thyme was one of the first herbs used as incense and was often mixed with equal parts of lavender, then sprinkled on the floors of churches in the Middle Ages to eliminate any unwanted odors.

Nasal Support Ingredients:
Echinacea purpurea syn E. angustifoli, Purple Cone Flower

Preparations of this plant were widely used by the Plains Native Americans (Comanche and Sioux tribes) for wellness care. Herbalists, for centuries have turned to Echinacea to support the immune system and overall health and so do we. On another interesting note, Echinacea’s name is derived from the Greek word for hedgehog and was inspired by the appearance of the flower’s central cone.

Dr Song Professional Teeth Whitening Kit 44% Carbamide Peroxide Review

I’m a crest white stripes kind of girl. While I didn’t want to deter from them since I know they work, I got an offer to try Dr. Song’s teeth whitening system. I received a full set of mouth guards that custom fit (like if you purchased a mouth guard), tooth whitening formula, paint brush to put on the tooth whitening formula & LED to assist with the whitening. The only thing not included was instructions. Luckily after contacting customer service, I was directed to their website.

First, this is a long FIRST process. You have to boil water to get the mouth guards to fit nicely. It’s worth the effort to have them fit comfortably. Next step is painting your teeth. Instructions recommend .5ml but I found you could put out A LOT less. Once you paint your teeth, you put the guard in and wait 15 minutes to 4 hours. You then just add the LED light for 15 minutes to start. I only used the kit for 15 minutes to see how sensitive it would make my teeth. The next day I was fine. You can view the pictures below for results- not bad!!

The kit itself gives you a full year of whitening. You can purchase additional sensitive paste to help with any sensitivity to the whitening formula.

Dr Song Teeth Whitening Kit includes:
• 8 large syringes - good for 50 applications
• gel applicator brush - for easy application of whitening gel
• LED Blue Light Accelerator - for acceleration of whitening process
• moldable teeth trays

•Good for over 50 applications, professional teeth whitening take home kit.
•44% Carbamide Peroxide, Gel Applicator, White LED light, & thermoform trays
•Meets USP standards & FDA compliant

Safety Information: Maximum strength. Do not use if you have sensitive teeth or you may experience discomfort.

Tray Instructions:

Step 1: Place the tray over the upper teeth without placing the tray in boiling water. Practice with your tongue on the roof of your mouth and touching the inside of the tray. Suck the air from the tray. This contours the guard to the inside surface of the teeth. Repeat with lower tray.
Step 2: Bring water to a boil. Pour the water into a cup and let sit for 1 minute. Dip the tray into the water for 5 seconds. Make sure the edges do not fold onto each other (occurs when dipped for too long, if this happens, reshape tray back to original form, allow to cool and try again).
Step 3: Lift the tray vertically from the water using the tab. Carefully and quickly place the tray around the teeth and then immediately perform the procedure outlined in step 1.
Step 4: The tray can be reformed multiple times by dipping them again into hot water, repeat until satisfied.
Step 5: Once you are satisfied with the fit, trim the front tab away from the tray with scissors.

Whitening Treatment Instructions:

Please do not rush the whitening process. Going slowly and achieving results in the long run is the best way. Keep the use of gel to a minimum, less is more. Keep the gel away from your gums as they may irritate them/cause temporary bleaching of gums.

Step 1: Brush and floss just prior to bleaching your teeth. Dispense .5 ml of gel into a small bowl and using the applicator brush, apply a thin layer of gel to the front teeth only, keep the gel away from the gums. Do not whiten the back teeth, since no one can see them.
Step 2: Insert whitening trays in the mouth over the teeth. Immediately wipe any excess gel off of the gums. Wear the trays for 15 minutes and up to 4 hours if a stronger treatment is desired. If sensitivity or irritation occurs, wait 24 hours between treatments and use less gel. Repeat process daily as needed.
Optional: If you have a LED tray light, you can place it over the trays and use it for 15 minutes at the start of each session. Make sure to take out the clear plastic safety disk in the battery compartment before attempting to turn on.
Final Step: Gently remove any excess gel that remains on the teeth.

If you need faster results, mix the gel with a small amount of water before applying as water/saliva can activate the whitener. Shelf life of whitener is approximately 12 months upon receiving when stored properly in a cool, dark place.

Ingredients: carbamide peroxide, water, glycerin, carbomer, potassium sorbate, disodium EDTA, flavor

Remineralization Gel Instructions:

Use the remineralization gel after each teeth whitening treatment to eliminate any sensitivity or use as often as needed/desired.

Step 1: Brush your teeth each time before using the remineralization gel. The gel is most effective on clean teeth.
Step 2: Make sure that dental trays are clean and dry before applying remineralization gel into them. Moisture reduces the efficacy of the remineralization gel.
Step 3: Apply a small amount of remineralization gel around the bottom interior of the dental tray.
Step 4: Position the dental tray over your teeth and press gently so that the remineralization gel covers the entire surface of your teeth. Wipe off any overflow gel. Wear dental trays as needed from 30 minutes to 4 hours. Overnight applications are acceptable.
Step 5: After your remineralization session, clean the dental trays with warm water and toothbrush.

Ingredients: Water, Alcohol, Polysorbate 20, Carbomer, Potassium Sorbate, Potassium Nitrate, Mentha Piperita Oil, Dicalcium Phosphate Dihydrate, Dicalcium Phosphate, Flouride

KISS InstaWave Review

What girl isn't looking for an easier way to do your hair??? I've seen a ton of infomercials on this automatic curler so when the opportunity to try this product & review it came up, I was over the moon delighted.

I normally shower, blow out my hair with a round brush and head out to start my day. It takes about 40 minutes to blow out my hair with a round brush. For the KISS InstaWave, I actually showered, put my hair up & the next day used this curler on dry but un straightened hair. Usually my hair doesn't hold curl if I don't do it immediately after drying so this made the KISS InstaWave a true test of the best.

1. I noticed that I had to hold this in my hair for a good 10 seconds to get a GOOD Curl. I tried a quick spin and drop and the curl fell out quick.
2. I had a bit of tangling in my hair when I didn't piece out my hair. It's very important you put in a section otherwise it will twist up hair in the surrounding area.
3. Patience is a virtue. It took about 20 minutes total which wasn't as long as round brushing but it was longer than expected.

I was pleasantly surprised as curls stayed in all day and then the next. Usually my hair curls easy but only lasts a few hours. I documented below the progress of my hair throughout a full day (morning-8am to bedtime- 12am)

KISS InstaWave is a fully automatic tangle-free curler that instantly creates beautiful curls. Easy for anyone to use, from any angle, with any hand. Features a Curl Dial with left/right curl directions. Automatically shuts off after 90 minutes. Has 2 heat settings with a low/high switch with maximum temperature of 420
